Mixed-use project with approximately 1 million sq. ft. of commercial office space, 95-unit affordable housing project, ground floor community-oriented retail, over 7 acres of publicly accessible open space, along waterfront.  Collaboration with EPA neighborhood in variety of ways, most notably organizing with the community annual EPA Community Music Festival with local talent, food vendors, youth robotics & bicycle competition, among other local activities.

 

2588 Mission Street

148-unit, multi-family rental project, with ground floor retail proposed as Mercado, in the heart of Mission District. Utilizing State Density Bonus to increase density. Collaboration with local businesses, Mission Community Market, and local neighborhood groups.

69-unit, for-sale, mixed-use project located at corner of Fulton and Gough in Hayes Valley.  Praised as car-free, transit-oriented community, with micro-units of studios, 1 and 2 bedroom units.  Developed in conjunction with adjacent Boys and Girls Club, with shared storm water control basin, and parking garage built for Club.

 

The Pacific

76-unit, for-sale, adaptive reuse project converting the former home of the University of Pacific Dugoni School of Dentistry to luxury residential housing, in the heart of Pacific Heights.  Shattered records in condominium pricing at time of sale.

 

Knox

91-unit, for-sale, mixed-use project located at 645 Texas Street, at the edge of the Dogpatch neighborhood and Potrero Hill.  Project incorporated ground floor retail, 1, 2 and 3 bedroom units, in a 5-story building, centered around a lushly landscaped podium courtyard.  Creative collaboration with Dogpatch Neighborhood Association to raise funds and awareness for local children’s playground.

 

Rowan

70-unit, for-sale mixed-use project, located in the Outer Mission, Mission Creek neighborhood.  Innovative partnership with local neighborhood group, to contribute to Franklin Square Park, with both capital contributions and sweat equity in quarterly clean-up-the-park days.

151-unit, for-sale, residential 25-story tower in South Park neighborhood of Downtown L.A.  Featured indoor/outdoor amenity deck, resort-style pool, and yoga garden, this was a premier luxury development in trendy, emerging area of DTLA.

 

1554 Market Street

109-unit, for-sale residential project in Mid-Market neighborhood, replacing an underutilized site on a key transit corridor.  Engagement with and support by Hayes Valley Neighborhood Association. 12-story project was entitled and sold to outside developer. 

 

1545 Pine Street

107-unit, for-sale, mixed-use residential development located in Lower Polk neighborhood.  Infill site entitled for 12-story high-rise building, with creative design features to enhance the streetscape, and mitigate wind impacts.  Worked collaboratively to win unanimous support from Lower Polk Neighborhood Association. Entitled and sold to outside developer.

 

923 Folsom Street

Completed: 2017
115-unit, residential development located in South of Market Area, with ground floor retail.  Worked in partnership with local non-profit (United Playaz) to start-up SOMA Pathways project, to educate the younger population with whom UP serves on career pathways in construction and development.  Project entitled and sold to outside developer.

 

Avalon Hayes Valley

182-mixed use rental community in heart of Hayes Valley.  Project located on the redevelopment site, on Parcel P, one of the city-owned sites originally the on-ramp to Highway 101.  The site incorporated a living alley concept, new rental housing organized in four main buildings and three courtyards, and designed by three different architectural firms.

 

Treasure Island

8,000-unit mixed-use master planned sustainable community in heart of the Bay, three hotels, 300+ acres of parks, 235,000 sq. ft. of retail, and 100,000 sq. ft. of office space to be developed over a period of 15-20 years. This former naval site is an extraordinary location, that over time will be home to one of the most transit-oriented sustainable developments in the U.S.

 

Orinda Grove

73 for-sale, single-family residences, developed on an 8.2 acre site, with a mix of uses, including a City-owned ballfield and Orinda Union School District office building.  Formerly an underutilized property and vacant school site, Orinda Grove was developed as a transit-oriented community within walking distance of the Orinda BART station and downtown.

 

Zephyr Gate

Completed: 2008
130-unit, for-sale townhome community, located within the Central Station master planned community. Central Station was formerly 29 acres of unused industrial land, in the midst of the surrounding residential and industrial neighborhood of West Oakland. 

 

Devon Square

74-unit, for-sale townhome community, located in the City of San Pablo.  Formerly industrial land, this townhome community provided needed first time homebuyers the opportunity to purchase a townhome at an affordable price point.

 

Bayport
Developer: Catellus

Location: Alameda, CA
Completed: 2009
632-unit, mixed-use, mixed-income, master planned community designed according to new urbanist principles of traditional neighborhood development. All the homes clustered around a centrally located K-8 public school, and 4-acre park.  As part of the Defense Base Relocation and Closure Act (BRAC), the U.S. Navy designated the Alameda Naval Air Station and Fleet Industrial Supply Center (FISC)/East Housing for U.S. Navy to be closed and redeveloped.  The 72-acre Bayport community was the first phase of redevelopment of naval base in the City of Alameda.

 

The Village at Centennial Square, San Francisco State University

Completed: 2004
192-unit, 762-bed, mixed-use student housing project, including newly constructed Student Services Center and retail space. On a 3.6-acre site, buildings developed in the heart of the campus, and were designed and built to create a village atmosphere, with landscaped courtyards and open spaces.

 

Victoria by the Bay

Location: Hercules, CA
Completed: early 2000’s (build out of homes)
880-unit, master planned community located on San Pablo Bay. This 206-acre site was an active oil and asphalt refinery. Closed in 1997, the City was left with a large contaminated parcel of land.  Catellus designed, entitled and developed master planned community, and sold lots to homebuilders.

 

The Avalon
Developer: Catellus/East Bay Asian Development Corporation (EBALDC)

Location: Emeryville, CA
Completed: 2000
67-unit, mixed-use, mixed-income multi-family rental community, intended for people 55 years of age or older.  Project was developed as a partnership between Catellus and EBALDC, and is a mix of studio, 1 and 2-bedroom units, with ground floor retail storefronts.

 

Primero Grove
Developer: Catellus (in partnership with UC Davis)
Role: Project Manager
Location: Davis, CA
Completed: 1998
180-unit, student housing project, developed in partnership with UC Davis and EAH, non-profit affordable housing developer.  3-story walk-up buildings, provided rental housing to UC Davis students, in a variety of unit configurations.

 

Bridgecourt
Developer: Catellus

Location: Emeryille, CA
Completed: 1999
220-unit, rental, residential, mixed-use project developed in heart of Emeryville directly across from East Bay Bridge Shopping Center.  Formerly a rail yard project, the 50-acre site encompassing both the Shopping Center and Bridgecourt significantly revitalized this part of the City.
